The excellent part of the Pokemon universe is that after the first interlinkable Game Boy role-playing video games gained popularity in the mid-1990's, Nintendo released the rights for all kinds of pokemon products to be produced. From Pokemon games to cards, action figures to Pokemon X, it's hard to escape the Pokemon revolution. Plus, the number of characters is huge!
Now you fanatics worldwide can feed your obsession with Pokemon Misty through pokemon action figures, trading cards, books, and pokemon toys of every kind imaginable.
Pokemon Misty: Water-Type Queen
Pokemon Misty plays a major role in all of the Pokemon media. In the pokemon video games Misty is actually the leader of the Cerulean City Gym.
Which video games, you ask, does Pokemon May show up? Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon LeafGreen, although these games are some of the earliest games released (January 29, 2004 in Japan, and September 9, 2004 in North America), they are still entertaining. They feature the first 151 Pokemon from the original Game Boy games, plus many other Pokemon from games that came later in the series. Another very popular game series is Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon. The Mysterious Dungeon series includes: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team; and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. Keep in mind - Blue and Red is a matched pair of games for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, respectively and the Explorers series are a matched pair of games for the Nintendo DS. The cool thing about the Blue and Red games is that they begin with six Pokemon exclusive to each version, players can unlock the exclusive Pokemon from the other version through Wonder Mail missions.
Pokemon Misty: Manga
The difference between manga and anime is simple: manga are Japanese comics and anime is the Japanese version of animation. In many cases, anime is the animated version of a well-liked manga. But, in the case of Pokemon, the manga is based on the video game, not the anime. Both the manga and the anime came after the Pokemon video game was released. There are many different interpretations of the Pokemon universe, there is even an online sprite comic called Pokemon X. Most die-hard Pokemon fans will agree though, that there is one manga series which models the Pokemon universe head and shoulders above the rest for visualization and accuracy. If you like Pokemon Misty in the game, you'll love her in the manga Pokemon Adventures. This Pokemon-related manga series is based on the video games, and follows the games much more closely than any other manga series, or even the anime. In the manga (and the anime), Pokemon Misty runs around with the cute Pikachu (one of the most popular Pokemon) who she acquired through a series of
events with another key Pokemon trainer, Ash. If you are really into the Pokemon universe and its characters, you will breeze through this series, of which the first 9 volumes were written by Hidenori Kusaka and illustrated by Mato. (It was a brilliant idea to name the characters in the manga after the different versions of the video game!) These stories are fantastic for bringing Pokemon May and all the other Pokemon characters to life.
For the true Pokemon May Fans, there are two more manga that are must-haves - Best of Pokemon Adventures Yellow and Red. Even those Pokemon fans that have reservations about the Pokemon anime love these manga. Best of Pokemon Adventures Yellow and Red are not centered on the anime star Ash, instead, the manga follows the adventures of characters Red and Yellow, which might be why a few people who do not like the anime enjoy the manga.
After playing Pokemon games, watching the anime, and reading the manga, it is easy to see that the characters in the Pokemon universe are what make it so awesome. (What is more lovable than Pikachu's voice or stranger than Licklicky's tongue?) If you really want to get to know the Pokemon monsters and their traits, you have to get the Official Pokemon Full Pokedex Guide. (If you don't know who Pikachu or Lickilicky are, you need to get this book.) It is full of information about game codes, where to find rare Pokemon, find new friends, how to evolve Pokemon, and pretty much anything else you can think of. It even includes a full list of Learned Attacks, Battle Moves, Egg Moves, and a Post-story walkthrough. Plus, any Pokemon gamer knows that the most useful tool when playing is a complete Pokedex. Even if you're playing the Pokemon trading card game, the most important part is collecting the monsters. The rules and strategy are all secondary to collecting the right cards in the first place - which is difficult to do without a Pokedex. If you can get off your couch and pry yourself away from your Pokemon game for a few minutes, you should get a copy of this guide. There is a lot of other fabulous Pokemon May information available online; all you have to do is surf a little.
