Even though we've always had a passion for cool toys, like the Transformers, it's hard to believe that the Pokemon craze swept across the United States a decade
ago. In 1998, two years after Japan had fallen in love with the game (known there as the far less cute Pocket Monsters) Nintendo released the first Pokemon game in the U.S. Gamers soon became hooked, enough to hail the ten-year anniversary as Pokemon X. Forget homework and television; there were monsters' cards to capture and train whilst acting as May or Misty, battles to arrange, and the all important quest of becoming a Pokemon master. In the world of the first Pokemon games released by Nintendo, there were over 250 Pokemon that could be captured and trained, each with their own special powers. Gamers took on the role of a human trainer. As more people became hooked on the game and the not-too-violent, not-too-scary-looking monsters, the Pokemon brand soon expanded into other areas as well. There was the television show featuring the tame and very cute Pikachu, the Pokemon trading card game, movies, action figures - it seemed as though the world just couldn't get enough. Today, Pokemon products are still quite popular, and the recognizable characters can be seen on all types of merchandise. It looks as though Pokemon is here to stay.
Pokemon Games and Guides
Of all the Pokemon products that have been released throughout the years, Pokemon games are perhaps the most popular. After all, video games are how the Pokemon brand got its start. Today, most gamers prefer Pokemon games designed for the Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, and the Nintendo Wii. Pokemon Diamond, one of several big hits in the line of Pokemon games, was released in April of 2007 for Nintendo DS and takes gamers to Sinnoh! There, they must navigate new landscapes and participate in original battles in an effort to become the world's best Pokemon trainer. The handheld's wireless WIFI connection allows gamers to battle and trade with other Pokemon trainers in the same room or halfway around the world. For fans of the Game Boy Advance, there's Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire. Released in 2003, this game features several improvements over the original Pokemon pinball game, including new Pokemon and completely new features like a Pokemon Mart. With over two dozen Pokemon games available for Nintendo game systems, it's clear that Pokemon games have not lost their appeal since the first two (and very basic) ones were released ten years ago.

With hundreds of Pokemon to capture and train, you would need to have excellent
memory to keep track of them all. Pokemon Pokedex products were introduced to make the task of remembering all of the Pokemon details a little easier for Pokemon game enthusiasts. The Official Pokemon Pokedex features complete information for all of the Poketto Monsutā featured in Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold. In addition to providing general stats and pictures of each and every Pokemon, this Pokemon Pokedex also provides useful information about important game elements like healing items, battle items, and Poke balls, all of which can help the trainer conquer the game. With all of the new games (and new Pokemon) that have been released since the Official Pokemon Pokedex hit store shelves, some of the Pokemon may not be included.
