If you're only going to add one type of footwear to your closet this year, make it knee high boots. A pair of fashionable knee high boots is unbelievably versatile, and allows you to transform yourself from a professional working woman to club diva in no time! Knee high boots work well with dresses, short and long skirts, dress pants, and even jeans. If you're a true boot fanatic, you can always buy a pair of ankle boots and ultra daring and flashy thigh high boots too, but neither of these choices will offer quite as many options as knee high boots.
Tips for Choosing Fashionable Knee High Boots
It's an unfortunate fact of life, but not everything that looks great in pictures will look great on you. Remember that skimpy black bikini that looked sooo good on the rack? Well, the same rule applies to women's knee high boots. Your height and the size of your calf will dictate the style of fashionable knee high boots that will be best for you. But, there are a few things that hold true for every woman. Black is good. Black leather is better. Black knee high leather boots go well with most colors and styles, so they're the clear winner if you only want one pair of women's knee high boots. Make sure you can walk in the knee high boots you pick out. Some of us were born with the ability to prance around in knee high stiletto boots and make it look as easy as walking around in a pair of running shoes. If that's not you, choose round toed knee high boots and lower heels. After all, it's hard to wow everyone at the club if you can't dance (or walk) in your knee high boots.
Choose knee high boots that will flatter your legs. For larger calves, choose women's knee high boots that hug your legs. Really loose boots will only make them look bigger. Knee high stretch boots or lace-up knee high boots are both suitable choices. For skinnier legs, choose bulkier materials and looser fits. A pair of knee high slouch boots will make your legs look bigger, a problem most women only wish they had to deal with!
Choosing a heel size for your fashionable knee high boots is also vital. Tall women can pull off almost any type of heel - lucky them! If you're a shorter gal, try to go for a larger heel, which will make your legs appear longer. Avoid flats! When deciding between chunky or spiky, choose the style of women's knee high boots based on the size of your legs. It's pretty simple; for larger legs wear chunky heels, for smaller legs wear spiky heels. If only all fashion advice could be so straightforward!
Knee High Boots: Casual and Conservative
Many people think of women's knee high boots as a somewhat racy choice of footwear. While it's true that many styles of fashionable knee high boots will turn heads and have tongues wagging, (particularly if they're paired with the perfect killer mini skirt); many women's knee high boots are actually very casual and conservative. Rubber knee high boots are great for splashing through puddles, and the colorful prints featuring cherries, horseshoes, and hearts scream retro fun. But we somehow doubt that anyone would describe these womens knee high boots as risqué. The same goes for knee high sheepskin boots. Women who own these describe them as super comfortable, but they're definitely far from naughty. They're more of a roaming, window shopping, kind of knee high boots.
Knee High Boots: Trendy and Sexy
Sexy and fashionable knee high boots are super feminine and sexy. Once you've found the right pair of knee high platform boots or knee high lace boots, just how much of a buzz you want to create is up to you. For a mysterious and soft look, pair your womens knee high boots with a skirt that reaches below the knee. It's sexy, but still leaves a lot to the imagination. If you're a girl who dares to bear, a mini skirt (with or without tights) and knee high dress boots screams sex kitten and high fashion. With all of the choices of fashionable knee high boots out there, it can be hard to choose just one, so feel free to indulge and treat yourself to an extra pair...or two.

I never have, nor will I ever, have anything to do with a woman who wears boots. They are the most unattractive things ever developed, and are the last thing a woman needs.

I think that the "ugg style" would be my favorite. They are versitile; meaning that you could pair them up with cute skinny legs in the winter/fall. Or make a statement by matching them up with bermudas/shorts. Maybe even a mini?? Just a thought.

Knee high boots are glamourous unless a woman has huge calves then they look hideous and should be avoided. Overweight women look terrible in boots...PERIOD!!!!!

I think your shoes are absolutely a falsehood. Get real, with orthopedic specialists and listen to their recommendations. This kind of foot-ware went out in the 70's.

I have great legs and love to show them off.
replyThis year I bought a pair of black suede leather knee high boots that were half price at DWH,( Designer Warehouse). Priced at $160.00, I bought them for $80.00
bucks. It is very difficult to find leather boots.
Look closely, most of the boots I looked at were
plastic (pleather) boots. A pair of real leather boots will always be expensive, so prepare your wallet for paying at least $70.00 bucks or more for real leather.

Also, I have no problems with my feet at all, they are very healthy. However, don't buy your boots too small. Boot buying is no time to squeeze your feet into a small size. Always buy the next size up from what you would normally wear in a shoe when you buy a boot. Buying the size larger will give your feet room to move around in during the winter. That way you can sneak a pair of footie socks onto your feet for extra comfort and hygiene purposes ( to gather the sweat)
replyIf you choose to buy the stilleto heel, remember , they are killer on ice, you will fall and get hurt.
Try to find a somewhat thicker high heel for stability in icy or snowy weather. Stilletto heels will snap off if you get your heel stuck in the mud or the snow.
Thinner, muscular calfs, like mine always look good in boots. If you have fat calfs, boots will always be tight. The article claims that women with fat calfs should not buy loose boots. *hahaha* You are not going to find loose boots if you have fat calfs, fat calfs will always be tight in boots, they forgot to mention that.
I hope this new season will bring a new selection of real leather boots. It is easy to find plastic boots, it is very difficult to find real leather or real leather suede boots, seriously hard.
Read the tags, if it doesn't say leather, it isn't leather. Your feet will thank you for buying real leather and not buying plastic, or man made boots.
I think the UGG boots are UGLY. Sorry, they are.
Sexy is as sexy does and I look smashing in a nice pair of boots.
My sexy boots actually make my legs look thin.
I can see how they would go from work to the disco
very easily, they look great anywhere, I have a great fashion sense. The UGG boots do not go well on a night out, you will look frumpy and odd. Bring an extra pair of nice shoes if you wear the UGG boots for warmth during the winter, you want to look good, not frumpy.
Loved the article, but wanted more selections to look at and to read your comments about.
PS - thigh highs make your legs look chunky. I have thin thighs and they look good as is. Most women have thick thighs and the thigh highs make your thick thighs look even thicker. They seem sexy only if you have thin thighs, but I do have thin thighs and the thigh highs add a bit of bulk to the thigh, which I can handle, but if you have fat thighs, they do not slim them down, they make them look fatter, just so you know. Knee high boots look far sexier.
Nice leather kneww high boots - a fashion must for all women who want to look good in the winter!

LOVE the article! I'm transgender and just beginning to put together my new wardrobe, and boots will be a huge part of it. I'm fortunate enough to have pretty thin calves, so I'm going to try some knee high Charles David boots.

Thanks for the post. I think the Knee high Boots are very comfortable leave alone that how does it look. The boots keeps warm and best to count on it during winters. but the only fact is that these boots looks best only on some.
