Top 3 Most Hated Inventions
We hate them. But we need them. They drive us nuts. But we can't live without them.
We are talking about the top three most hated inventions that we absolutely have to have, which are:
1. Cell phones
2. Alarm clocks
3. Television
That's the word from the annual Massachusetts Institute of Technology survey, known as the Lemelson-MIT Invention Index. Fully 30 percent of the 1,023 adults and 500 teenagers polled in this annual survey cited cell phones as the most hated, must-have invention, which placed it in the top spot. Alarm clocks followed closely at 25 percent, with television at 23 percent. (What? You don't like reality shows?)
Other hated, but must-have inventions:
Shaving razors
Microwave ovens
Coffee pots
Computers
Vacuum cleaners
So what is this love-hate relationship we have with our cell phones? "The interconnectedness you get from the cell phone is a very positive thing, and I think that's one of the most important things, the bringing together of people. The downside of that is that you sometimes want to be alone," said Lemelson Center Director Merton C. Flemings. The Lemelson-MIT Program is a non-profit organization that celebrates inventors and inventions.

What inventions make our lives easier? Teens overwhelmingly said e-mail and voice mail, while more than half of the adults cited credit cards and debit cards.

I DONT HAVE A CELL PHONE (I DO HAVE A LAND LINE) AN ALARM CLOCK (I WAKE UP AT 5:30 WHETHER I WANT TO OR NOT) OR A TELEVISION, (I USED TO HAVE ALL OF THEM) AND DONT MISS ANY OF THEM!!!!

I hate cell phones. I have one for when I travel, but when I'm not traveling, it lives on my kitchen counter, turned OFF. I don't mind my alarm clock, although I preferred having an Alarm Cat (my cat KNEW when it was time to get up and would purr, snuggle and nuzzle me awake). And TV? It's okay. I watch it sometimes. It's off most of the time.

i have them all, My tv is on most of the time for the noise,My cell phone is used mainly for emergencys and my alarm goes off at 4:30am so I can make a living.

and I LOVE BEING ABLE TO CALL THE COPS OR MY FRIEND the minute I feel like it instead of looking for a dirty public phone.
Do people hate running water too? Prefer
walking 5 miles for a bucket to last the day? And how about that hateful indoor plumbing! Water heaters! When we could be doing that on a stove!LOLOLOL!
On my planet when we hate something, we dont buy one.

I agree with Alien, all of the marvelous devises we have in the imformation age. I just don't want people to forget how to put the cell phone away, make some coffee and have a good conversation face to face. Some traditions are important for public deplomacy.

OMGA!!!! how can you hate these!!! i love all these products! and in actuality, i can combine those top 3 items into one on my phone so there! those who think technology is annoying or a waste or watever it is, simply arent taking advantge of it in the right way. By the way, i have a 4.0 and am taking 6 AP classes as a junior in HIGH SCHOOL!!! however, i watch more TV than most ppl i know and im on 4 sports teams, i love it! technology simply makes it easier to keep up with everything, and all those comments about intelligence?? HAHAHAH you have no idea

I fail to see what there is to hate in regards to cell phones, alarm clocks and television.
replyPerhaps these people lack self control or proper boundaries in their lives. As someone else stated..don't buy one if you hate it so much. Do not blame the product, blame yourself.
