Wearing color contact lenses is all about looking good, or at least a chance to look different. If you have brown eyes but always wished you had blue eyes, or would like to have some fun with green eyes for a day to go with your green dress or shirt, then color contact lenses are an inexpensive way to make that happen.
While it's probably not a good idea to wear color contact lenses for extended periods of time, especially if you don't need them to correct your eyesight, they're a fun and interesting way to change your personal style and look. After all, everyone you deal with is looking at your eyes, so you might as well give them something to look at.
You can either change the color of your eyes or enhance the color you already have with these color contact lenses:
The Johnson & Johnson Acuvue 2 Colours Enhancers don't change the color of your eyes, but intensify the color of light eyes with translucent tints of aqua, blue or green. So if you have light green eyes and want to turn them into bright green for St. Patrick's Day, these might be the way to go.
Acuvue also sells color contact lenses in opaque colors -- sapphire blue, deep blue, pearl gray, jade green, hazel green, honey and chestnut brown. They're sure to get someone's attention. Color contact lenses can be worn with or without vision correction. If you have contact lenses for corrected eyesight, then color contact lenses can be used on days when you're not wearing your regular contacts as a way to have some fun with color. Acuvue recommends that they be worn and removed daily for up to two weeks for each pair of color contact lenses, or worn continuously for up to seven days and six nights, as directed by your eye doctor. In other words, it's probably a good idea to see an eye doctor before getting color contact lenses, even if you aren't getting them for corrected vision.
While most color contact lenses you'll find are offered in three colors, there are some out there that offer wild colors such as violet or an intensely vivid blue that makes them look out of this world. Some conlor contact lenses are also offered with patterns, such as cat eyes, zebra pattern, wild fire or a jaguar. Or you could always go with red, made popular by Michael Jackson when he turned into a monster in his "Thriller" video.
Whatever color you pick for your color contact lenses, have fun with it. It's not a lifelong commitment like plastic surgery or even a tattoo, so color contact lenses are a great way to play with your appearance without making any permanent changes. It will also be fun to see how many people notice the difference when you change your eye color.
