Despite everyone having a Vera Bradley bag, I can still remember trying desperately to hold my ground and not give into the temptation of the perfectly quilted sacks with plush, colorful fabrics. At my best friend's wedding rehearsal, all the bridesmaids, including myself, opened our ornate hat boxes and inside was the most beautiful little jewelry case in bright pink and orange containing a string of pearls. I marveled in the brilliance of the colors that seem to reflect my vibrant personality perfectly. Every bridesmaid had a different print that seemed to echo her style. I was hooked.

The print was called Sherbet and it lived from January 2004 to July 2006 before officially being added to the retired list and in that time I had to collect as many other variations of the bag in the exact same print and get my mom hooked on Vera Bradley, too. (Her prints are Java Blue and Pink Elephants – the lady has style!) It was an addiction – and every holiday I got my fix with a new bag in the delightful Sherbet print. Although my insanity for the little fluffy bags has dwindled, I still check in every season to see what new prints they have announced.
Although the spring and summer prints seem to resonate the most with me, I love the new fall 2009 prints and seven new styles of bags that Vera Bradley recently announced on their website. Blue Rhapsody, Carnaby and Pirouette were just announced this June and their whimsical and colorful patterns don't make me think fall at all. Blue Rhapsody takes tones of blue and melds them into a bohemian style that is both artsy and edgy. Carnaby is a throwback print to the 1960's in
