Hot New Elmo Toy for Holiday Season 2009

He's baaack! The ever-popular Elmo is back on the toy scene in a whole new way, just in time for the holiday 2009 season. You won't find a new Fisher Price Elmo tickle doll, though. Instead, look for giant Elmo hands -- Elmo Tickle Hands, to be exact! A huge hit at the 2009 Toy Fair, these fun and furry mitts start at an affordable $27.56 and just started shipping out to happy homes earlier this week.

So, what's all the fuss about?... The tickle power is now in the hands of the wearer. When a child slips on a pair, a simple Elmo nose press will get the mitts vibrating, and an audio of Elmo laughing, throwing out fun phrases, and a soundtrack of silly noises starts-up. The vibrations function as a tickle-assist, and the more tickling that's done, the more Elmo cracks-up.
Another nose press will activate Elmo's Dance mode. Funky beats begin to play as Elmo raps to the Tickle Hand Groove, encouraging particular dance moves, as the Tickle Hands continue vibrating. The Hands also come with a "fun-structional" DVD with a step-by-step of all the dance moves. Elmo tickle toys from previous years include: T.M.X. Elmo Extra Special Edition, Elmo Live, and the original Tickle-Me-Elmo.

Catch a teaser of Elmo's Tickle Hand Groove!

What a stupid "toy." We are not throwing our money away on "hot toys" this Christmas. The "hot toy" my kids are getting this year are savings bonds. We have re-defined Christmas as family activities with seasonal and faith-based celebrations. The age of spending money on crap is over. Families are choosing not to live on plastic anymore.

I agree with the other posts. By the time I finished reading the description of these happy hands, I wondered if they are for children... or their mommies. I will say that from a children's toy perspective, it seems like kids would get bored with these rather quickly. But on the other hand, if your kid plays with these for hours in sheer delight, there may be a short bus in your kid's future....

If you want to get your children excited about nature....this educational product is sweeping the country. It's called the TickleMe Plant and its a real plant that MOVES when you Tickle It. The leaves close and even the branches droop when Tickled. Now it can easily been grown indoors year round. Who know a plant could move when Tickled. You can see the video and its even more fun to grow your own. My Students love it.

What a great way to encourage young children to be active! Get up and dance!
How can you not like Elmo?
Perhaps preschoolers will be able to convince older members of their families to dance. This is less expensive than Wii and/or a gym membership.
Elmo may assist us in eradicating obesity.
I'm wondering if some of the posters have young children???

What sick comments. What kind of strange people hang out on these sites. I have never heard such ridiculous comments about a toy, a great toy company and Elmo, one of the most beloved and popular characters of all time. You "adults" are in serious need of a life.
