If you are a cat lover like I am, then you probably know that cats are not only great pets, but they can also be a handful around the house. We all love our cats when they come up and cuddle with us on the couch, but let them scratch up a wall, or use the bathroom on your bed and you will find that love turning sour pretty quickly, so before that happens to you, try looking into some cat repellent to keep your kitty away from the places you want to keep feline-free.Four Paws Cat and Kitten Repellent is a a 6 oz. aerosol spray that helps keep cats and kittens away from forbidden areas around your home. The spray can be used both inside and outside to help repel your cats from sofas, trees, shrubs, etc. We all love our cats, but unless we help teach them where they should and should not go, they are going to go everywhere they can. A good cat repellent is a great way to keep your cat where they belong.
It is not only our own personal cats that we need to deter. If you have an outdoor garden you may find yourself in a situation where you are getting random cats wandering around your garden. It makes sense, gardens attract all types of little animals, which in turn attract cats. A good cat repellent to use outdoors is the Contech CatStop Automatic Outdoor Cat Repellent. This device is motion activated and emits a 3 second burst of ultrasonic noise that scares away cats. If you are looking for a safe and humane way to repel cats, this is a perfect solution as it uses no chemicals or electric shocks to the animals.
Another cat repellent spray is Boundary Indoor/Outdoor Cat Repellent Spray. This is a very similar product to the cat repellent spray that we looked at earlier, but it comes in a larger 14 oz. can. The spray will help you train your cats where they are not supposed to go in your house, and used daily this spray will work for a full 24 hours. I have had to use this product before to keep one of my cats from scratching the side of my sofa and it really worked quickly, and even once I stopped applying the cat repellent the cat no longer would scratch the sofa where she had been.
If you do not like the idea of spraying chemical cat repellents around your house, you can try a different tactic with the Cat Repellent Scat Blanket. This is a way to train your cats to stay off your furniture. A lot of trainers suggest that aluminum foil is a good cat repellent, but foil rips and tears, where the scat blanket will not. I suppose the biggest down side to the scat blanket is the way it looks in your house. I can see how you would not want this over your couch when you have company over to your house, but if you are looking for something to keep your animals off your furniture while you are away from home, this could be the perfect way to do it without having to spray chemicals. What are your experiences using cat repellent products? If you have used cat repellents in the past, share what products you tried, and just how effective a method it was.
