Leap Frog's Tag Reading System: A must-have for young kids

I'm a big fan of Leap Frog products. They take the education of children seriously and they strive to integrate the concept of "learning tool" with "toy" to make fun and resourceful products.

One of my favorite products of theirs is the Tag Reading System. It debuted with the Tag Reader, designed for children ages 4-8. Kids use a pen-like object to press on pages of the Tag Reading books to either hear the entire story ready, or alternatively, read a story word by word.
There are more than 20 books now available for the Reader like Walter the Farting Dog, Diego, Green Eggs and Ham and more.

The "pen" will only hold up to 5 stories at a time electronically, but it works just fine as you download each of the stories onto your computer. By syncing up the pen, you can choose which stories are stored in its memory.

My 5 1/2 year old has been using the Tag Reading System for about a year, and it's only helped to develop his enthusiasm for reading.

So when they recently announced the launch of the Tag Junior, I was all over it for my younger son. He's smack in the middle of the age range for this product - at 2 1/2, we have tons of room to grow with this product which is designed for kids ages 24 months - age 4. The concept's the same as the bigger Tag Reading product, only the "pen" is shorter and squatter, making it much easier for little hands to grip. And they also have a great selection of books available like Curious George, Dora & the Backyardigans.
