Nancy O'Dell is co-Anchor of "Access Hollywood," Author of "Full of Life: Mom-to-Mom Tips I Wish Someone Had Told Me When I Was Pregnant," Activist and founder of "Betty's Battle" a foundation she formed with MDA to promote research and work towards finding a cure for ALS in honor of her mother www.bettysbattle.orgIn addition to her on-air duties at "Access Hollywood," O'Dell has contributed reports to both NBC News "Today" show and "Dateline NBC." Beyond covering events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards, O'Dell has been chosen by NBC for the last eight years to host two of their big annual network broadcasts, The Golden Globes Arrivals Special and The Tournament of Roses Parade.
JP: What style staples live in your closet or suitcase?
NO: I have this pair of black J-Brand skinny jeans I love. They are great because you can dress them up with a fancy top and heels or throw on just a tee and flip-flops with them. Also, I just bought a cool pair of skinny cord pants from Free People with decorative rips in them...kind of a fun, rocker look. And they are the same as the black jeans. you can dress them up or down.
Another style staple for me is Spanx, Spanx and Spanx...love them as they keep everything all nice and tight underneath your clothes!
JP: What is in your make-up bag right now?
NO: Well, I can't live without my Rusk W8less hair spray, so it NEVER leaves my make-up bag. I keep the tiny travel can in my bag all the time as it gives great hold, but it doesn't weigh down my hair and you can brush through it...which is so important to prevent breakage.
Also, I found this great Neutrogena Blush called Mineral Sheers Blush. It is pure minerals, so it is gentle to skin, has this great illumination to it and comes in an all-in-one package with the brush as part of the container. So I love it for my travel bag and purse! Also, I am addicted to this base that a great make-up artist in NY showed me...Cle de Peau. It's expensive, but it makes your skin so smooth and you don't have to wear powder with it. Plus you only have to use a tiny bit at a time so it lasts a long time. JP: Is your onscreen style different from your off-screen style? What do you like to wear when you're not working?
NO: Totally different. I am very casual off-air. I like to hang out in my Juicy sweatsuits or jeans and a tee-shirt. I gotta be able to play with my 2 year old baby girl and I need casual clothes for that, as she is a tomboy and very athletic for her age!
JP: What is your favorite moisturizer? Will you share your daily skin care routine?
NO: I use the Borba moisturizer. I particularly love the Borba Age Defying Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer. I swear when I wake up in the morning any sign of little lines are gone. It's as if my skin likes to drink that stuff! As far as my daily skin care routine, I wash at first with Johnson's baby soap. I have used it forever as I have sensitive skin and it feel refreshing. Then I go to my whole Borba system, which starts with the Micro-Diamond Cleanser so u get a scrub along with a cleanser, then I put on all the steps. I love the HD-Illuminating Light Effects Serum. It makes your skin look so bright and alive.
JP: What's on your wish list for Fall?
NO: Well I just went on a fun wish-list shopping spree for Fall. I was in NY the other day and passed Nine West and couldn't resist going in from what I saw in the window. OMG, they have amazing shoes/boots for Fall and the best thing is that they aren't that expensive, but they look expensive. I am also in search of a cool purse for the fall. Problem is, mine needs tons and tons of pockets so I can stay organized and easily find my gadgets!!!!
