The Revolutionary New Video Game System (Without a Screen!)

It's pulled European kids away from the TV and onto the game floor, now Swinxs has hopped over the pond and hit the states.

A game console stocked with educational contests, from charades to good old-fashioned tag, Swinxs has a novel twist. There's no screen. No more staring at a little box and letting your fingers do the work, it's a toy that makes your kids . . . wait for it . . . actually PLAY a game with their whole body.

So how does it work? Colored armbands worn by your kids communicate wirelessly with the console to let it know who's doing what and allow them free reign for a rousing rendition of the sound game or far and away hide and seek (there's four in the Swinxs box, but you can pick up a four-pack separately).

TV-free works for mom and dad too. It allows Swinxs to be packed in the trunk for a trip to grandma's or sent out to the backyard for the whole crew to shake their sillies in the fresh air. Additional games can be downloaded from the Swinxs website to keep things fresh, so you'll never hear "I'm bored" again.
