Before you buy your Holiday lights, take inventory of what you have and make a plan for the areas in your home you would like to light up. If you already have a nice assortment of working lights, you may only need to buy a few here and there to update your Christmas decorations. There are basically two types of lights; LED and mini lights.

LED lights are the most popular and come in a variety of sizes and colors. They use a semi-conductor to brighten up your Christmas tree or your home (they can be used both indoor as well as outside.) They are much more energy efficient compared to the old fashioned mini-lights and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. While they can be a little pricey, if you decorate your house each year, then the cost may be well worth it. One good thing about LED lights is that they don't get hot and they pose less of a fire danger than most mini-lights.
