Arcona: Effective, Good for You Anti-Aging Skincare
Arcona is one of those beauty brands that women-in-the-know are hopelessly obsessed with. A natural line free of parabens and all the toxic nasties, Arcona's cosmeceutical-grade ingredients are highly active, but also cold-processed at low temperatures to keep them effective. (The website draws a parallel between its ingredients and the enzymes in food, saying, "Think of what happens to fresh vegetables when they are overcooked!") All products are also made without petrochemicals, binders or fillers, and don't contain any perfumes, dyes or anything toxic. In short: it's true good-for-you skincare!
That's all well and good...but do the products actually work? (Hey we've got some fine lines and zits here we need to take care of!) The answer, happily, is yes. This past week, we visited the Arcona Spa in Santa Monica and had a facial featuring their Basic 5 Products...and with no extractions. (Thank goodness - we hate extractions!) Not only was the treatment relaxing and left our skin glowy...we noticed a smoother, softer complexion all week. Check out these great Arcona products to serve as your own introduction to the line:
Arcona Magic White Ice, $38: This is an antimicrobial gel excellent for acne-prone complexions, designed to be used both day and night. It sinks in quickly, won't clog pores or irritate sensitive skin, and protects against environmental damage with vitamins B-5, C, E and plumping hyaluronic acid.
Arcona AM Acne Lotion, $38: Reduces acne-causing inflammation, plus treats existing breakouts and spots with manuka extract, lactic acid and salicylic acid. Much gentler than basically every other acne product on the market!
Arcona White Tea Purifying Cleanser, $42: We're something of a cleanser devotee, so for us to pledge allegiance to anything new means it's definitely worth every penny. White Tea Purifying Cleanser is excellent because it removes every trace of dirt, oil and makeup without stripping skin. After you use it, your complexion will be soft and hydrated, and acne doesn't stand a chance. Plus, it's full of antioxidants to help protect against free-radicals (which cause wrinkles) and it has strengthening cranberry enzymes and soothing yucca and aloe.
Arcona Golden Grain Gommage, $42: A great exfoliant is key to any anti-aging routine as not only it will help slough off dead, dull skin and reveal your fresher skin underneath, but it also can help activate your skin's protection mechanism, which stimulates collagen. Golden Grain is the perfect combination of gentle (no irritating even sensitive skins here) and effective (it has fruit enzymes, volcanic minerals, oatmeal and lemon extract). Use every other night, or every two nights, for best results.
