Converse High Tops: The Shoe That Keeps on Living

The world was graced with Converse high tops in the early 1900s, but the shoe brand really turned heads in the 1960s. That's when the company offered its classic Converse All Star shoe, commonly referred to as Chuck Taylor, in colors other than black and white.

Fast forward to today's modern world and you'll still spot Converse high tops adorning the feet of celebrities like Rihanna, Jessica Alba and even the likes of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson of Twilight. And because the Converse sneaker knows no fashion boundaries, the popular shoe can also be worn well by those into punk (e.g. Avril Lavigne, men of Blink 182), sports figures and even the fashion forward (e.g. Nicole Richie).

The best part about the Converse high top is the fact that it comes in every color a brain could conjure up. There are also a ton of prints and patterns and even photo-clad shoes to choose from, as well. That means it's easy to integrate into nearly all your wardrobe concoctions. In fact, choosing your shoe hue can be likened to selecting a flavor of icecream: sometimes you've got to have several different colors to make sure you have your bases covered.

Dressing up but want to keep it casual? Throw on your favorite summer dress and pair it with a bright-hued Converse. Wanna keep it low key and ultra casual? Add them to your favorite jeans and t-shirt. All things are possible with the Converse high top - a shoe whose popularity always seems to have momentum.

Is the Converse brand your go-to shoe? If so, tell us about your favorite way to wear them.

Why on earth would I help others become like my wife and put other innocent significant others at risk of living with what I live with?
