Hot New Toy for This Holiday Season: HEXBUG Micro Robots

The latest fad in our house for my two boys are these Nano HEXBUGs. They are basically robotic toys - small robots shaped to look and act like a bug does. Turn them on and they shake and move just as you would expect a little bug to. You can buy accessory habitats for them with doors you can open and close that they will zip around in.

My kids have one of the small habitat sets and they have spent tons of time playing with their bugs already. The habitat is definitely not necessary. While fun, the bugs can run alone in your house! They will hit walls, spin and turn around and flip over.

This is definitely a hot one for the holiday season for the 3 and up crowd. (There is definitely a choking factor involved and this toy should not be around infants or small children.) I plan on getting my boys some additional bugs and habitats for their fall birthdays and for Christmas this year.

You can buy the individual HEXBUGs for $8+ (I like the HEXBUG Nano Starter Set, which comes with one bug and one small habitat for $13+ on Amazon) Additional bugs and habitats may be purchased. Each single bug comes in it's own tube.
