What Not to Buy in September

With the changing of the season, there will be lots of shiny new things on store shelves to tempt you, but remember that patience pays -- you may want or even need these items now, but wait a few months to buy and you'll be rewarded with big savings. Hold off for now on these items:

College logo gear -- School spirit is always at its highest at the start of a new year (and a new football season), and schools take advantage of the fervor by jacking up prices. As sweatshirt and jersey sales wane mid-football season, these items will start to drop and you will get much better deals. If you just can't wait, treat yourself to a new college hoodie.

Leaf blowers -- Soon the leaves will fall and you'll be wishing you had something with a little more power than your rake. You could pay full price for a leaf blower now, or borrow your neighbor's for the season and get your own leaf blower when they go on sale in December. If you've gotta have one right now, the Heartland America Cordless 12V Leaf Blower is a good deal at $49.99.

As a college student I found that renting my text books on Chegg.com was a good way to save money, especially since many of the books I would choose not to keep anyway. Chegg is very easy to use and is environmentally friendly and unless it is a book I KNOW I will actually need in the future, I will never buy a book at our bookstore again.

Enjoyed the articles concepts and was wondering if the author would comment about what time of the year is best o buy a new TV, like do new models and upgrades come out all year long, or is there a specific time when older models are reduced in price to make way for the newer ones.

I have found that there are tons of ways to get good deals these days. For example you can use cashback sites in tandem with coupons, and a cashback card to save on all your purchases. One of the best sites to do this with is http://bit.ly/samplecenter , and use their cashback program.
