Beautiful in Your 60's and 70's: The Best Makeup and Skin Care Products to Keep You Looking Your Best

For women in their 60's and 70's, finding good beauty advice can be difficult since their age group tends to get included with the 40's and 50's age groups. As we age, our skin changes, so there is a huge difference in the skin of a 40-year-old woman compared with a woman in her 60's. All women want to look young and vibrant, and just because you're over 60 doesn't mean you can't be as beautiful now as you were in your younger years. You just need to know which products will work the best for your skin.
One of the best foundations for older women, Chanel Lift Lumière Firming and Smoothing Fluid Makeup contains the Liftopic Complex which diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles by directing light exactly where it is needed. Almost magically, your face regains the appearance of younger skin as wrinkles and fine lines are smoothed, pores and imperfections seem to disappear, and any dark spots are lightened. Providing natural coverage with colored pigments with yellow, red, and black iron oxides coated in amino acids, this foundation promises to ensure optimum affinity with the skin. Also containing a firming polymer, Lift Lumière smoothes your skin's surface and gives it a lift by providing a very comfortable firming effect. Hydrating your skin to keep it from looking dry and cakey at the end of the day, the texture of this magic potion glides over your face to reshape it without stiffness.

My favorite makeup and skin care company, Clinique, has several lines of superb anti-aging beauty products, including their Repairwear line. One of the things I like the best about Clinique is their sets of products that allow you to try more than one item in a line for a cheaper price than if you bought everything separately, like this Clinique Repairwear Set: Night Cream, Serum, and Eye Cream. The Repairwear Intensive Night Cream works all night long to help stop and repair the look of fine lines and wrinkles by rebuilding stores of firming natural collagen and fueling 24-hour antioxidant replenishment that prepares your skin for battle on the next day. The serum in this set is the Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle and UV Damage Corrector, a potent serum that gives your skin a second chance against aging. You'll start to see a reduction of lines and wrinkles after using it for four weeks, and after 12 weeks, the visible wrinkle-reducing power is close to a dermatological laser procedure. Rounding out this set is the Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream, which targets the appearance of eye-area lines and wrinkles by replenishing antioxidants and strengthening vulnerable skin, giving you a fresher, brighter look.

I also have to mention a couple of more excellent anti-aging Clinique products endorsed strongly by my 66-year-old mother. The Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector virtually undoes any visible evidence of sun damage, dark patches, skin stresses, age spots, and even the darkening that can follow acne scarring. Created for all ethnicities and skin tones, rediscover the brightness and clarity you thought had disappeared for good. As Clinique's lead dermatologist Dr. Orentreich says, "When skin is more even toned, you look younger." If you like this skin tone corrector, you may also want to try the line's Clinique Even Better Foundation which also works to give your skin an even tone.

Because she stresses the importance of trying to defy gravity at her age, my mom's other favorite Clinique anti-aging product, Clinique Zero Gravity Repairwear Lift Firming Cream gives your face an instant firming sensation that delivers visible and measurable lift. Helping your skin stand up to gravity, this potent moisturizer enhances the natural collagen production of your skin. Absorbs quickly without feeling greasy, this cream will make you look years younger if you continue to use it regularly.

If you like having a skin-care regimen already pre-planned for you, the Avon ANEW Rejuvenate Skin Revitalizing System is a four-piece starter kit that promises to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in only three days. A three-step regimen, your first step is cleansing with the 2-in1 Gel Cleanser that deep cleans and tones as it rejuvenates tired-looking skin. The next step is moisturizing with the Day Revitalizing Cream in the morning and the Night Revitalizing Cream at night. Both creams are designed to help clarify and reveal fresher, younger-looking skin. The last step in this regimen, applying the 24 Hour Eye Moisturizer SPF 25 Day + Night Cream to your eyelids and undereye areas each morning and night will reduce undereye circles, reduce puffiness, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and protect against UVA/UVB damage.

Avon also has anti-aging makeup that features the Anew technology, such as the Avon ANEW Age Transforming Foundation. Outsmarting the aging process, this foundation instantly reduces fine lines, wrinkles, pores, and age spots. According to AVON, after one week, over 90% of women showed improvements in skin texture and clarity, and after four weeks, over 90% of women saw a reduction in wrinkles. Formulated with 4D Wrinkle Reverse Technology, this advanced antioxidant complex helps build and protect your skin's key structural components.

If you are a fan of Avon, you'll really want to check out their new Platinum line, the next generation of skin care for women over 60. Using its patented Paxillium Technology, it boosts the production of paxillium, a key protein needed to help retain youthful skin cells. AVON notes that 80% of women who use this line say the skin around their neck looks dramatically firmer, and after four weeks of use, wrinkles are reduced along with the appearance of sagging skin. With a night cream and serum, the Avon Platinum line is a great weapon in the battle of aging.

You can also find some of the best anti-aging products at bargain prices in your drugstore or supermarket. The top facial skin care retail brand in the world, Olay also has a pre-packaged anti-aging skin care regimen, the Olay Regenerist Skin Care Starter Trio. Formulated with an exclusive Olay amino-peptide B3 complex, the Regenerist line renews your skin's outer layer while strengthening your skin's moisture barrier. Included in this set are the Daily Regenerating Cleanser, which detoxifies like a mini-professional treatment, the Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream, which intensively hydrates your skin, and the Eye Lifting Serum, which hydrates to firm and lift skin around the entire eye area.

Another drugstore find, Loréal Age Perfect Skin Supporting and Hydrating Makeup for Mature Skin features ingredients like dermo-peptide, marine collagen, and hyaluronic moisturizer to help restore your skin's elasticity and smooth the appearance of wrinkles. A soufflé-like consistency, its texture blends beautifully as well as replenishes moisture all day without settling into lines or wrinkles. Reducing the appearance of age spots and brightening the complexion, this foundation provides light to medium coverage and is ideal for all skin types.

Vicki, if you need redness relief Boots has a redness relief gel that works WONDERS on your skin. It's $20 at Target and definitely worth it.

I can't believe you did not mention Clinque Repairware Lip Therapy. I have been using this for years and at 64 have zero little cracks or creases on my upper lip edge.

Other than wearing makeup, a women who is in good physical shape over 50 can also invest in sexy clothing such as tigh fitting outfits, miniskirts and two piece bikinis. I wear these clothing since I work my body hard at the gym almost everyday for years. I am not ashamed of my age.

I have been using Avon's Anew products since the line first came out about 15 years ago. Also am a representative. So when everyone wants to know what I use to keep looking young and no wriinkles at 48, I tell them. And when they buy the Anew, they call to say how much better their skin looks and feels and love the compliments they get. Yes, some of it is a bit pricey.....but well worth it! So give it a try and I guarantee you won't regret it.

Boy so sad. So sad. Women just can't accept getting old that they have to waste money on all this junk. When women stop depending on others telling them how they should look even when they're over 60 is the day I'll respect them. Get real women! You're gonna age and wrinkle. Gravity will take its toll no matter how much cover up you use. God it's so sad when women depend on others to decide for them how they should look.

I'm 51. I WANT to look old but I can't because I have the 'right' genes. I want to wrinkle like everyone whose so damn afraid of them. I can't get enough gray hairs for my taste but I prefer graying naturally. God willing I should live into my 70's and beyond, I HOPE I have a full head of white hair. I want to look as wrinkled as a prune. I;m tired of looking like a perpetual teen ager.

Avon's facial prod's sit on top of my skin. Nothing soaks in and same with in general prod's, like what you can get in grocery store. The 1 makeup I really absolutely loved is/was Iman. Now she's not really doing that, but clothing things on HSN.

Do people really believe that Jacqueline Bisset really has used Avon products and never had any cosmetic surgery? I look at least ten years younger than her and I actually do use Avon products.

I always check the consumer ratings on cosmetic products at makeupalley.com. BTW, the Clinique spot reducer got a bad score. Alpha Hydrox spot reducer got a better one and that's what I am going to try.

I'm 55 and really have trouble with dark circles under my eyes. Neither of my parents did so I don't think it's hereditary. Every concealor I've tried has failed. It doesn't cover well and/or it settles in to fine lines --- which makes them stand out even more. Other than the 'dark eyes' problem, the rest isn't too bad. Help!!!
