Is there anything more magical for a little girl to wake up on Christmas morning to find a Barbie house assembled and waiting for her to play with under the tree? I still remember getting a Barbie townhouse one Christmas as a child. That kind of excitement is hard to forget. Looking at the Barbie houses out there, there are several choices with varying price points, and all are sure to delight any Barbie-loving little girl.

The least expensive Barbie house option, the
Barbie Glam Vacation House is perfect for little girls who love pink as it explodes with pink excitement throughout the abode. With two stories, six play areas include a living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, breakfast bar, and patio. Something unique about this Barbie house is how she can customize the arrangement of certain Clip n' Flip pieces like a TV, chandelier, and tiki lights until it's just to her liking. Accessories that are included with this Barbie house are a couch, bed, breakfast/patio bar, and blender. And, if she can't get enough of this vacation house, she can neatly fold it up and take with her wherever she goes as easily reassemble it.

Another inexpensive Barbie house, the
Barbie New 139-Piece Two-Story Six-Room Doll House comes with a free doll. It's easy to assemble, although an adult will need to supervise and help with the assembly. Completely furnished, this Barbie house comes with chimneys, floor coverings, and loud speakers, along with furniture like a sofa, dining room table, and vanity table with mirror. Several bad reviews of this Barbie house, however, suggest that its construction of cheap plastic and cardboard make it more worthwhile to spend more money for a better product.

My favorite Barbie house, the
Barbie Pink World Three-Story Dream Townhouse is exactly what I had as a child, although mine was a 1970's version. What I loved the most about this Barbie house was the working elevator. I don't think I ever got tired of playing with that elevator. A very posh townhouse, you walk into the fully-stocked kitchen and formal dining room, complete with chandelier, on the ground floor. Ride the elevator to the second floor for a cozy den with a fireplace and flat screen TV as well as a luxurious bathroom. Go up one more floor for Barbie's fancy bedroom suite furnished with a canopy bed and an adjoining balcony with working tiki lights and outdoor hot tub (wow, my 1970's Barbie house didn't have a hot tub!). With realistic sounds of doorbell, crackling fireplace, and kitchen timer, this Barbie house provides hours of entertainment.

The ultimate Barbie house, the
Mattel Barbie Three-Story Dream House is the priciest at $344.95, and while still constructed with plastic instead of sturdier wood, this Barbie house does offer up the bells and whistles you would expect at that price. Amenities include an escalator to the third floor, which detaches for a playhouse you can take along anywhere, and sounds like a doorbell and music. One of several rooms in this Barbie house, the living room features louvered doors she can open and close. With other rooms such as a state-of-the-art kitchen, posh bedroom and bathroom suite, Barbie has plenty of room to enjoy spending time there with her friends. While this certainly is a nice doll house, you can find cheaper Barbie houses that offer basically the same things.
