Snow Blowers -- Chew Up the White Stuff

toro popwe max two stage snow blowerWhen the snow starts falling fast enough that you can't see the end of your driveway, you'll be very glad that you have a snow blower. What? No snow blower? Oh, boy -- you're in for a tough winter. Here's a suggestion -- take a look at these three snow blowers to see if one of them might suit your needs. From a heavy-duty gasoline unit to a quiet, emissions-free electric model, the variety is pretty much endless.

If you're in that neck of the woods where a snow blower is an absolute necessity, this Toro Power Max 2-Stage Snow Blower may be just the ticket. The efficient, two-stage design features an expansive 26" of clearing width and will eat into a snow depth of some 21 1/2" -- nice. Six forward, and two reverse, speeds provide the flexibility for throwing snow that's one inch or one foot deep. The Briggs and Stratton OHV 4 cycle engine cranks with the electric start, the second stage Power Max auger keeps the snow from building up in the intake box, and you can make one-handed speed or discharge chute direction changes, so you don't have to stop.

poulan single stage snow blower
Poulan offers their lightweight Pro Single Stage Pr 621 Snow Blower. This machine is not designed for blizzard conditions, but it will nicely handle just about anything else. It sports 21" of clearing width and a 13" snow height with its 208 cc engine. The blower requires an easy, 5 minute initial assembly (kind of like getting your lawn mower out of garage storage in the Spring); the snow blower features a two year warranty.

greenworks electric snow blower
If you accumulate a minimum amount of snow each Winter, or you don't like noisy gasoline-powered engines, this Green Works Electric Snow Blower may be just right for you. A powerful 12 amp electric drive motor, with an 1800 RPM blade, will throw light snow up to 20', while eating through 20" of clearing width and a 10" depth. The maker believes in their machine, so much so that they offer a 4 year warranty. Good stuff.

Snow blowers -- for when you don't want to wait for Spring for the snow to go away.
