Chic and Eco-Friendly Dresses

It turns out "stylish" and "earth-friendly" aren't mutually exclusive concepts, after all. Making even a small commitment to the green movement is very admirable, of course, but now it's also proving to be rather fashionable - in the form of eco-friendly dresses that bring a dressed up twist to natural living.

In honor of Earth Day, which is this Friday, April 22, we've rounded up a few of our favorite nature-loving dresses for spring and beyond. These chic pieces do good, feel good and look good:

The ease of a comfortable, throw-it-on-and-go knit is impossible to resist. This Ulla Popken tunic dress ($39) is one of the most affordable finds of the season - and its 100% organic cotton material is beyond soft, to boot. The embroidered sleeves give it a faintly dressy touch, so you'll never be without a splash of color when you need it most.

A crisp shirt dress is a closet staple no woman should be without. This one, by Eileen Fisher ($198), makes organic linen look sharp and sophisticated. Despite its polish, it retains a classic, everyday-appropriate appearance that can be dressed up or down with ease.

Besides its price and comfort, the best thing about this Only Hearts organic cotton dress ($64) is that it's so incredibly easy to accessorize. Use its pale hue as the foundation for all manner of fun spring accessories - think bright scarves, bold belts and vibrant statement jewelry.

You can never go wrong with the Athleta Radiant dress ($74). An instant classic, it earns raves for its flattering silhouette, brilliant colors and versatile design. You can throw a blazer on top for the office, then throw on some dressy accessories for a night out. The options are endless - and the material (including the built-in bra) is organic.
