Right on Time: Chic New Summer Watches

These days, watches are fashion statements more than time tellers for a great number of women. Something about having a cell phone in hand negates the watch's actual purpose, but that doesn't mean they're going out of style. On the contrary, actually. Designers continue to churn out watches just a mite more glam, dressy and unusual than the last.

Among the many fresh summer watches we're, um, watching, this Adidas Cambridge watch ($55.73) is a sporty-meets-chic accessory that, despite its crystal accents, exudes a relatively minimal vibe. It's perfect, then, for adding a feminine finish to your workout attire (it's water resistant, too).

Continuing on the white theme, this AK Anne Klein bangle watch ($65) is an apt choice for the woman who favors a slimmer strap. It's also quite understated, with a white body boosted by striking rose-gold accents. This on-trend metallic is always a warmer, more ladylike alternative to its counterparts.

Eco-friendly and color-blocked, this Sprout watch ($30) has all the bases covered. It's made completely of eco conscious materials, including a bamboo dial, a corn resin case, bezel and buckle, and a certified organic cotton strap. The contrasting colors - a shot of pink here, a touch of blue there - enhances the natural ivory and looks so playful and cute. The price is pretty darn great, too.

An effortlessly beautiful watch all around, Marc by Marc Jacobs' Henry timepiece ($250) is an investment that will pay for itself in just a few wears. Traced by Swarovski crystals around its mid-size face, this striking gold watch is really a year-round accessory that goes with everything.
