For the longest time, I've been slightly suspicious of the loafer -- specifically when worn by women. I mean, to me they seemed like more a masculine shoe and to pair it with anything in my very girly wardrobe almost seemed like a cardinal sin against the fashion gods and goddesses.
Here's the thing, though. Loafers are everywhere this season, and will continue to have a strong presence through Autumn (at least until it's time to throw on winter boots again).
Because I've seen these brown, strange-ish shoes so often, they've grown on me in a way I never thought they would. My newest revelation: I've found... I actually... kind of like them (Shh -- Don't tell the arsenal of flats flooding out of my closet)!
Loafers come in all sorts of styles and shapes, and they most certainly don't have to be manly! They're the perfect go-to shoe for a skinny-jean and long blouse kind of day. They also add a lot of charisma to an otherwise plain-jane summer dress and they most certainly look killer with a pair of leggings.
