We know that the summer months are hot hot hot, and depending on where you live they can be mighty humid. Still, when the sun sets it can get a little chilly. And who wants to be without a jacket on a cool summer evening?

Not only will they protect you from the wind and cooler temps, but a summer jacket will help ward off pesky mosquitos, too. In addition, summer jackets are the perfect cover-up if you don't like showing off your arms. They can also make an otherwise casual outfit look a bit more polished and professional.

If you do want to wear your jacket during the day while it's hot, consider a cropped sleeve or a three quarter length sleeve.

Style tip: Don't be afraid to go bold when it comes to your summer jacket. Neutrals are lovely, but a splash of color can take your outfit from "meh" to marvelous in a snap!
