NARS Larger Than Life: More to Love

Receiving word about a new makeup collection is the adult equivalent of being a kid in a candy store or, perhaps on a level more easily related, looking forward to the newest Sweet Valley book with almost embarrassing anticipation (don't even try to deny it).

Still as eager as ever - but perhaps considerably less ashamed - we're drooling over the new additions to the NARS Larger Than Life collection. Joining the existing Larger Than Life Lengthening and Volumizing Mascaras are Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner ($23) and Larger Than Life Lip Gloss ($26); both contain a whopping nine shades.

Living up to its name, the eyeliner is formulated to last for up to 12 hours without a smudge, streak, smear or cakey mess in sight. Let's face it: all of us have experienced that particular joy at least once or twice in our lives. Scream in horror no more, ladies - this eyeliner does indeed do the job, gliding on smoothly and easily, leaving in its wake a crisp line of deep, radiant color. Whether your preference is for a jolt of turquoise or a dusting of almond, you'll find one for every moment of your life.

Gals on the go will appreciate that they feature built-in sharpeners, which means you can work those red-light makeup touch-ups during AM rush hour without (much) hassle. The easy, twist-up design is goof proof, of course, and you'll look just as fresh during happy hour as you did during those early hours. Bonus: They're all named after chic streets around the world, like Abbey Road and Rue De Rivoli.

Following suit, the lip gloss pumps up the volume just as you'd expect. Slick any one of these luminous shades on to reap the benefits of a nourishing, free radical-busting and plumping formula that genuinely does the job. Soft, elegant Tiber (a natural nude boosted by a touch of mauve) is the office-appropriate gloss you've fantasized about owning; juicy Norma (a check-me-out, just-bitten red) is the no-fuss shade worn by the no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners woman who owns the room every time. These babies last and last and last, and they don't feel uncomfortable or sticky in the least. They're outstanding alternatives to matte long-wear lipsticks, which can be drying.

With fall approaching, now is the time to start thinking transitional colors. What better way than with a few new glosses and eye liners to play up the drama and brighten up your complexion?
