Fascinators and Hair Accessories: A Lasting Hat Trend

Many thought that fascinators would come and go, as did the fuss over the recent royal wedding. Surprisingly, fascinators have demonstrated their staying power since the spring nuptials took place. Perhaps it's because hats, in general, are trending right now. Or maybe it's because they're a fresh take on head decor.

Fascinators lend themselves best to more formal events, such as weddings, cocktail hours or fancy get togethers. However, if you choose one that emits a more playful vibe, you can don it pretty much anywhere. For example, your fascinator will fit right in at an afternoon picnic, a neighborhood get together, happy hour at your favorite wine bar or even a casual dinner with your special someone.

In place of a fascinator, try a headband, decorate side comb or hair clip.

Style tip: Fascinators look best when hair is polished and put together. Pairing it with a pony tail is a major faux pas, so spend an extra 10 minutes in front of the bathroom perfecting that coiffure before attaching a fascinator to it.
