Stylist On A Soapbox: Fall Necklace Trends

Flip through any fashion magazine this time of the year, and you're bound to get a sneak peek of fall fashion trends. There are so many unique looks when it comes to fall's must-have jewelry -- I've already read through a number of blogs toting chokers as one of their popular picks. People either love them or hate them. I tend to fall into the latter group. Is it just me or do they remind you of dog collars?! Hmm, not really what I would consider "fashionable." You'll be hard pressed to see me wearing one this fall but you'll definitely see me in layered jewelry. You can wear one, two, or more pieces at a time. Don't know about you, but I'm all about versatility and variety. See some of my top picks for layered necklaces below. I've even included a few chokers for those of you who might like the look.
P.S. Come back next week for another notable rant or rave from another stylist on a soapbox!

Your comments on fashion jewelry for women were very good. However, I suggest you get over the dog collar stigma. Hanging necklaces are great but make people look at your neck and chest area which is okay if that's what you want. It can be mildly distracting if having a conversation. Chokers make people look at your face for better eye to eye contact, less distraction and better communication. I have made these observations as a former fashion jewelry designer. Keep the fashion tips coming, they're great.

You also have to have a slender neck and great chin line to be able to wear a choker.
