The Sephora Collection Blockbuster Kit Returns

Fans of the now classic, always behemoth Sephora makeup kits have something new to drool over: the Sephora Collection Makeup Studio Blockbuster ($49.50). Like its predecessors, this sleek, attractive package is filled to the hilt with a veritable who's who of colors that would make even the most enormous Crayola crayon box envious.

While previous versions opened up to reveal long, flat makeup palettes, the Makeup Studio Blockbuster is distinctive in design. It's deceptively small at first glance, which may cause consumers to doubt that it could possibly contain anything more than a handful of items. Leave it to Sephora Collection, though: the label makes clever use of all available space, which is quite evident upon opening the box.

To wit, it's a wonderfully complex little set, something akin to a personal makeup counter. On the inner lid is a large mirror (and a fairly visible Sephora logo, natch). Beneath the mirror? That's where the magic begins, ladies. Simply slide the trays outward to reveal an astonishing number of colors both brazen and understated. In total, there are 96 eye shadows, 84 lip glosses, six cream eyeliners, three blushes, one bronzer, one mascara and four applicators.

No matter what your preference - perhaps an eighties-inspired turquoise eye or a romantic, soft pink pout - you can likely make it work with everything in this set. Its compact design makes it perfect for travel, desk drawers at the office (for quick post-lunch touch ups or before happy hour) or even stowing in a handbag. Imagine that - carrying an entire makeup collection in your purse. Since the palette comes in at just under nine inches high by a little over six inches wide, doing so is entirely possible.

Frankly, it's about time! The kit will be available in stores in early October, but Sephora Beauty Insiders can score this limited edition kit online now.
