Fall Trend: The Chic Poncho

Here's a trend that I've personally never tried, but definitely plan to experiment with this fall: The chic poncho.

Ponchos are the perfect outerwear piece for chillier fall weather since they're not heavy or cumbersome like coats and some jackets. And while they aren't going to keep you super warm in the middle of winter, a poncho will keep you snug and cozy on cooler summer evenings and 50-70 degree fall temps.

Here's another word to the wise: don't worry about falling into an Ugly Betty moment with your poncho. As long as you stay on trend in terms of color, patterns and accessories for the fall 2011 season, you'll look positively chic.

Style Tip: Pair your poncho with a long statement necklace or bauble ring, your favorite hobo-chic oversized bag, slouchy boots and sunglasses to turn heads wherever you venture.
