The Michael Kors Oversized Runway Watch (+ a Cheaper Alternative)

I am coveting a new kind of accessory, the oversized watch; specifically, the Michael Kors Golden Oversized Runway Watch. It's pictured here on the model and is the first of the four watches above. I've been intrigued by the oversized watch, also known as the "boyfriend watch" (because they could pass for a men's watch). On a recent night out, I spotted a woman wearing a beautiful oversized silver watch. It made such a statement on her wrist. I couldn't take my eyes of it. This weekend at the Michael Kors store, I spotted these Oversized Runway Watches. They were just as beautiful and just as glam as the watch the woman had. I put it on my wrist and loved the look. It was definitely a statement piece. Of the four colors, gold, silver, brown and the rose gold/gray combo, my favorite was the gold. The watches sells for $250 each. Are you as smitten as I am by these watches? The gold watch is currently on backorder online, but the other colors are available for purchase now.

Michael Kors Oversized Runway Watch in Brown, $250
Michael Kors Oversized Runway Watch in Silver, $250
Michael Kors Oversized Runway Watch in Rose Gold/Gray, $250

For those of you that don't want to spend as much, I recently learned that Fossil makes Michael Kors watches and I found that the Fossil Stella Large Watch takes after the Michael Kors Oversized Runway watch. Check them out below.

Fossil Stella Large Aluminum Watch in Champagne, $135
Fossil Stella Stainless Steel Watch in Chocolate/Rose, $135
Fossil Stella Large Aluminum Watch in Silvertone, $135

I guess $250 is a pretty "cheap" watch even in this economy, that is sad but it seems to be true. As a new watch buyer myself I never realized just how much people judge you by the watch your wearing, it seems if you are not wearing at least a true "Swiss Made" with a automatic/mechanical movement or a certain Swiss quartz movement it is frowned upon and you may as well be wearing a cheap Timex from a discount store. To me a $100-200 is ALOT of money for a watch but not in a "watch world" where people are paying thousands for them. I'm not paying as much for a watch as a good used car..sorry :(

That's too much money for a watch. Timex makes a great watch, comes in various styles, and are accurate, too. I was a pilot for over 40 years, and used timex watches to navigate by. Only had trouble on one flight, because the battery, over two years old, ran down. My best timex cost only $35, and It had a standard clock face, a digital window, could give military time, and had a date function. Another version had a multi-funtion calculator.

To you all that matters is knowing what time it is right? Have a cellphone with the time on it? your all set then.Any cheap quartz or digital watch even the dollar store cheapies can tell you that. If you are trying to make any kind of fashion statement or showing any kind of status then you are sooo off. People with Rolex watches and other high end timepieces are laughing behind your back if they have even noticed you or what you have on your wrist. It is sad but it is true a man is really judged by what watch is on his wrist so maybe you should keep the Timex out of sight.

I'm happy with my Sprout watch. It is almost 100% biodegradable & has a non-mercury battery. It sure isn't blingy looking but I like it anyways. It cost $30.

I wear about a 43mm watch. I think it looks like a good fit on me 7 1/2 wrists, a smaller looks like a womans watch and larger on me just looks terrible. I don't wear a watch while I am working anyways so that does not matter because I am wearing Scrubs.

I discovered the graviton particle in 2,002.
A watch company uses the name "graviton" on their watches.
So, I sent them an email explaining that I'm the physicist who discovered the graviton, could I at least have one watch ? They said no, only 10% off.

Oversized watches are very tacky and childish looking.Like put those BIG wheels on a car. Some men can not pull off wearing a traditional 36-39mm watch without it looking dainty and feminine on their wrists so they would probally need to move up to a 40-45mm for a good masculine look and fit. These 50mm watches are just too much for anyone too pull off unless they are a giant of a man.Women wearing large oversized watches is just wrong and very unattractive in my opinion.

Robert, I'm just wondering, why are you so worried about what people think about what sized watch you are wearing? Are you new to the work force? What type of job do you have? I'm not attacking you, I'm just curious. I like watches and mourned when my Salvador Dali watch died. It was a great watch. His mustaches pointed to the current time and an ant ran around the circumference of the watch face.

Who can afford these expensive watches? In our day and our economy, me and the averge person would spend $25-30 on a watch, not a hundred plus !

Like various other Armani fashions, Armani watches are devoted to both, function and design.
