Stylist on a Soapbox: Trish McEvoy Refillable Double-Decker Compacts

When you go on a trip, do you usually carry multiple make-up bags? I certainly did, but this summer, I've been able to downsize to just one bag, thanks to the Trish McEvoy Refillable Double-Decker Compact, which contains multiple kinds of makeups that I can have on hand.

In the video, I mentioned the compact is customizable, so you select what you want in there. I can do most of my face with the compact I created. For my eyes, I've got the Cream Glaze Eyeshadow ($16), which I use as

a base color. I've also got a darker shadow, Sable Bronze Glaze Eyeshadow ($16) which I apply under the brow bone to get a semi smokey-eye look. I've also got the Dual Resort Bronzer ($35) which I apply on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and finally, I have a pinkish blush, the Natural Blush ($20) to give my cheeks a little more color. All I need after this is really some eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss! The compact is so practical when you're pressed for time and can't fuss over what colors to wear, or when you're saving space in your makeup bag or purse. I've really liked the colors I selected. I wanted something everyday wear and this is definitely great for that. The colors are very natural. You can see my colors pictured here to the right.

Another reason I love this little thing is that I don't have to be stuck with these colors. The makeup from Trish McEvoy (with the exception of the palettes and kits) are individually designed, so they can pop-in or pop-out of the compacts. As seasons change or as my mood changes, I can swap out the items I have. I'll always feel pleased with the colors I have on my face and that is a great thing!
