Peplum Trend is in Again

Every trend eventually comes back. The peplum, which if you are not familiar with, is a short overskirt, flouce or ruffle that is attached to the waistline of a skirt, dress, top or jacket, that was made popular in the 40s as a design in suits. The trend eventually lost its luster in the 50s, but in the 80s, it is garnered a lot of attention again. Fast forward to today. This fall season, we're seeing the return of the fit-and-flare silhouette, which brings with it polished, ladylike glam and flirty elegance.

This look may not appeal to everyone, but we think there are certainly some women who will love it. We recommend the silhouette especially for women with boyish frames because it can give them curves. A peplum top or dress is also fantastic for showing off a tiny wais. It can also hide a tummy, particularly when there is ruffle-detailing on the peplum.
