2012 Trend: Feather Accessories

Feathers are currently one of my favorite trends for the upcoming spring and summer 2012 seasons. They're earthy, they're flirty, they're chic and they're the perfect amount of funky. Pair feathers with just about any outfit to complete your look and make a bold, au courant statement.

Lately, the fashion world's seen a lot of feathers in hair. Fine Featherheads makes a lovely, high quality Quill Clips ($39.95) in an array of hues, including purple, yellow, turqouise and natural. They're bold enough to earn you adoration, but not so out there that it makes people wonder if you assaulted a bird (which is an easy line to cross, friends).

The Quill Clips attach to your hair with a miniature barrette and won't come out, even in the finest of locks. Also consider snagging Fine Featherheads' adorable "Fly Ties," ($7.99) a stylish alternative to traditional hairbands that are made specifically to keep your Quills and feathers from ripping.

Another feather trend is, of course, feather earrings. Feather earrings perfectly complement a casual chic ensemble. Think well-fitted, darn-denim jeans, ankle boots and your favorite t-shirt. Also wear feather earrings to snazz up a dress. In the winter, I like to wear my spring dresses with a cardigan, thick tights and slouchy boots.
