garmin 1450LMT gpsWhat with the number of GPS manufacturers offering electronic products these days, it shouldn't be a surprise that a number of them are selling their receivers for astonishingly low prices; Garmin, not to left in the dust, joins in with a number of their fine units. For example -- the Nuvi 1450LMT Navigator ($130, was $320) with the 5" touchscreen display. The best part? Free lifetime (4X annually) and continual traffic updates on this state of the art computer; voice prompt turn-by-turn directions, Lane Assist and Junction View, and if you've a need to be really stingy with your fuel use, the ecoRoute map planning. Other clever features -- 10 route memory, bread crumb trail, terrain elevation contours. Comes with a mounting cup, USB cable, and a detailed operators manual.

Featherlight at fewer than 6 ounces, the GPS has a 500 waypoint storage capacity, memory for 10 trip logs, side mount buttons for one-handed operation, and will operate some 14 hours on a pair of AA batteries (you supply 'em).

A wrist-mounted training monitor offers, among a host of training data, precise speed, distance run, pace information, heart rate, and rudimentary mapping, waypoints, and multiple running routes.
