Tinted Moisturizers: Cover Up Without Weighing Yourself Down

Heavy foundations have their time and place (believe me, I cherish mine greatly), but sometimes all you want is a little sheer coverage. That's where tinted moisturizers come into play. Tinted moisturizers are similar to liquid-based foundations, but aren't as heavy. They do have color in them, so that helps even out skin tone if you want to cover age spots, faint blemishes or minimize pores. If you suffer from acne blemishes, you may want to use a concealer in addition to a tinted moisturizer.

In the end, tinted moisturizers are more natural looking and -- bonus! -- typically have an SPF, keeping your pretty face protected from the sun's damaging rays. That'll keep you looking younger and healthier, to boot.

My favorite go-to tinted moisturizer is Marie Veronique Organic's Everyday Sheer Coverage with an SPF of 20 (Pictured at left, $50). I recommend this baby to just about anyone asking for a good sheer coverage product. It smells clean and earthy, largely becomes it only uses natural and organic ingredients.
