Inexpensive Kitchen Gadgets -- Each of Them Less Than $20

I like gadgets anywhere in my home, but particularly so in my kitchen. If it saves time or effort, I'm there. And, kitchen gadgets don't have to be expensive to be effective. Here are three kitchen gadgets that I like, and each of them is less than $20. Sweet.

This Maverick Triple Timer ($13.49) is a conveniently sized digital countdown (or count up) kitchen timer that will monitor the cook time on three different items. You may initiate the start times simultaneously, or track the trio of times individually. The timer features a 12 or 24 hour display, and has a magnet for hanging the device on the microwave over your stove, or you may use the folding stand on a counter top. Long-lasting batteries are included with the timer.

For an easy, custom taste to your home-made salad dressings, this OXO Good Grips Salad Dressing Shaker ($15); it's ideal for mixing, storing, and serving salad dressings, sauces, or marinades. The wide-mouth screw top allows for easy pouring of liquids and semi-solids -- mayonnaise and the like -- into the 1 1/2 cup capacity shaker; replace the top, give the container a shake, store it, and serve. The airtight and leakproof shaker is dishwasher-safe, and BPA-free.


Because I really like clever gadgets, this award-winning measuring cup, also from OXO -- the Mini Angled Measuring Cup ($4).
