Celebrate Earth Month with an Eco-Friendly Hair Routine

In celebration of April being Earth Month, consider switching to green, Earth-friendly hair and beauty products. When searching for the perfect product, seek out items that come in recyclable packaging (or were manufactured from recycled materials) and do your research on the ingredients and the company itself. You should always select organic products that are free of harmful chemicals. Not just for your hair and body's sake, but for the environment's sake, as well. After all, what goes on your hair eventually goes down the drain.

In addition to using eco-friendly hair products, you can take other steps to be kinder to Mother Earth. Don Bewley, co-founder of Eufora International, has a few green hair tricks up his sleeve.

"Utilize dry shampoo in between washes to reduce the amount of water being used," he suggests. I'm a fan of Jonathan Product's award-winning Green Rootine Dry Shampoo Brush Hair Powder, which comes three shades ($19).

Bewley also suggests using "a product that has an eco-friendly dispenser." For example, Eufora's Elevate Finishing Spray meets the strictest environmental standards with a new propellant that dissipates when introduced to light. Prive's award winning concept vert volumizing froth shampoo/conditioner and Non-Aerosol Mousse (featured at top left) is another eco-friendly option. Also, it's currently my favorite shampoo available on the market). The set is $58 and is worth every penny.
