The Art of Layering Fragrances

Have you ever had one of those days where a single fragrance just wasn't doing it for you? Or maybe you struggle with making your perfume last through your lunch hour.

The key, in either of these situations, is to layer your fragrances. Doing so accomplishes two things. First, it creates a deeper, richer scent profile. Secondly, it does keep you smelling better for longer.

Many bath/beauty/body companies create perfumes, spritzers, lotions and gels that work well together, allowing you to layer whenever -- and however -- you want. Take Scentsy, for example. They recently released a new line called, appropriately, "Layers," which lets you build a "new fragrance wardrobe, layer by layer, from your skin to your clothes." The line includes everything from body butter to solid perfumes, dryer disks and shower cream.

Another one of my favorite brands to layer is Tocca. They sell lotions, shower gels, candles, perfumes and, in September, will also offer kitchen-related goods including hand soap and milk.
