Faux Flower Arrangements -- Now That Summer is Gone

With Summer on the wane, and annual flowers and perennials about to fade from glory, it's time to look for greenery that will provide variety, color, and texture for the inside of your home. Enter that old mainstay, faux flowers. The quality of many arrangements is really good; it takes a very close look to determine that some of them are not living plants and flowers. And, a bonus -- no need to have someone water them while you're away. Or ... at home.

Here's a very nice faux arrangement that would fit right in with about any decor -- the Canna Grass and Staghorn Faux Flower Arrangement ($200; was $300). A generously sized, irregularly shaped dish holds the display -- about 2 1/2' tall X 2' wide X 1 1/2' deep -- of dark green and deep burgundy staghorn ferns and canna grasses. Perfect for a dining room table setting, or perhaps an entrance side table, especially if the wall behind it was a light color; great contrast.
