For a truly light weight (at about half a pound!) recorder, the Samsung HMX-F80 Digital Camcorder ($149 and free shipping; was $200). It features 1280 X 720p HD video recording, with 52X zoom. The 2.7" LCD display picks up the vibrant colors of your scenery via the CMOS sensor. Shoot about eight hours of video before you need to recharge the Li-Ion battery, and you may do that via the USB port, making it easy to top off your battery while you download your images. Also, HDMI-compatible with your television. Nice.
