Mustard yellow is one of the hottest colors for fall and winter 2012 and I'm hear to qualm your fears about incorporating color into your cool-clothes wardrobe.
If you're like me, you have a sort of aversion to non-traditional hues when it comes to fashion. It's not that I dislike color, I just worry that the wrong color will clash with my complexion, make me look wider than my frame or just simply look...bad. That's a natural worry, right? We all worry about those things.
Over the years, though, I've learned that you can't go wrong when it comes to experimenting with color and that -- in many cases -- non-neutral hues are more flattering than blacks, whites, grays and browns. if you have doubts, simply step into the dressing room and give yourself an honest assessment. If you're still uncertain about a color working on you, text a picture to an honest friend for feedback.
If the color doesn't work as a large garment on your frame, that doesn't mean you have to shun it completely. Instead, wear it as an accessory or accent piece. For example: purses, tights, shoes, earrings, scarves, etc.
Mustard yellow is a somewhat funky color that many shy away from, but when work well it can earn you positive attention. Check out the mustard yellow pieces we've highlighted below and let us know how you feel about the color in the comment section.
