Hands Free Stands for iPhone, iPod Touch & Other Mobile Devices

iPhoneEver watched a movie or TV show on your iPhone, iPod Touch or other mobile device? You loved being able to do this with your phone, but struggled to find the perfect spot to prop it up? Maybe you leaned it against a few books at your desk, but what if you're on a plane?

What do you do with your mobile device at your desk? I set it down anywhere on mine, where it's always susceptible to water or coffee spills. Plus it's just nice to see your iPhone propped up on a nice stand. I love accessories for my iPhone, and a hands free stand is next on my shopping list. It also makes for a great stocking stuffer or Christmas gift idea for any mobile device user in your life. The Simple Plastic model is available for just $1.99.

Check out my top picks for hands free stands for your iPhone, iPod Touch or other mobile device.

Buying A New iPhone

iPhone 3G SWhen Apple launched its iPhone in the summer of 2007 it changed the way people view cell phones today. A lot of competitors have tried to imitate with their own touch screen phones, but the iPhone still remains on the top. And as anyone who has ever owned one will tell you, there is no going back once you've tried an iPhone.

I must admit that I may be a little biased since I own one. But at the same time, that gives me a better understanding and puts me in a position to discuss the phone and accessories that you may want to pick up when getting a new iPhone.

A Lifesaver for Clumsy iPhone/PDAUsers!

I am an extremely clumsy person. I also recently bought an iPhone. Like oil and water, clumsiness and expensive electronics don't go well together, and when you throw exercise equipment into the mix, it can often spell disaster. My first video iPod suffered an early death when it flew off my treadmill right after I decided to take my speed up a notch without securing it first. This devastating (and expensive!) experience made me wary of enjoying my iPhone while working out, until I discovered the OtterBox Defender.

For The One Who Just Can't Get Enough Shoes, Gadgets, Accessories and Clothes!

Let the countdown begin ... we have a little over two months left until Christmas! I haven't done any holiday shopping yet. It might have something to do with the fact that it's still a little warm outside (this doesn't help usher in my holiday spirit).

To be honest, I usually wait until the last minute to do my holiday shopping (eventhough every year I vow to get a head start in Sept./Oct.). Once I do start shopping, I tend to spot deals on things that I want to get for myself, especially when it comes to shoes, gadgets/electronics, accessories and clothes.

So before I even hit the malls for Holiday shopping, I compiled a list of the top 12 gifts on my wishlist. I certainly don't need everything on this list but a girl can wish right?! Hopefully, it will help me stay on track when it comes to buying gifts for others.

Splurge vs. Steal: Bluetooth Devices

A few years ago, drunk drivers were one of the major dangers on the road. Now there's the phenomenon commonly known as 'Texting While Driving.' Don't think texting is that serious? Well according to The White House blog, "a driver operating a cell phone or texting while driving is six times more likely to be involved in an accident." That is a pretty scary statistic.

So what is the government trying to do to help rid America's roadways of this dangerous trend? The Department of Transportation is hosting a Distracted Driving Summit to brainstorm ways to help combat it.

There are about 18 states that ban texting while driving or the use of cell phones. Texting while driving is banned here in Virginia (and neighboring Washington, DC), yet I see people doing it almost everyday. Sure, they know it's dangerous but they may not realize that it only takes a few seconds to become distracted enough to get into an accident.

If you absolutely can't stop talking on your cell phone (or texting) while driving, either pull over to call/text or invest in a bluetooth device. Trust me your fellow drivers will thank you!

So what are some of the top bluetooth brands? Plantronics is one of the industry leaders. Whatever your budget, here are two models that you might like:
