Carhartt clothing is, indeed, tough stuff. I own a number of Carhartt's goods and they are first-rate. I especially like the fact that they, for the same durability and longevity, are about half the weight and less expensive than competing brands.

It has come to a point where we need to have a serious conversation, gentlemen. (That's right, sir, I'm talking to you with your bedazzled jeans, cowboy boots and bow tie.) We need to review the do's and don'ts of fashion and grooming to get you back on track and snagging a woman worthy of you.

Let's start with some basics, shall we?

Levi's jeans were an accident. Levi Strauss, arriving in San Francisco in 1853, wasn't there for the Gold Rush. His intent was to open a west coast branch of the family's dry goods company. Levi had brought canvas with him to make into tents and wagon covers but soon found a better use -- work clothes, more specifically, waist overalls.

Over the next years, Levi substituted twilled cotton for the canvas and, in partnership with a tailor, added copper rivets at stress points. Both of these changes increased the comfort and longevity of the pants that we would come to know as Levi's blue jeans.

Tim Daly is no stranger to the small screen, having starred as Joe Hackett on Wings, Dr. Pete Wilder on Private Practice to name a few of his past roles. His latest TV show, "Eyes," a one-hour detective series, returns to primetime with 12 episodes including seven never-before-seen episodes. Catch the series every Tuesday night on DIRECTV's 101 Network at 10pm EST. The seven never-before-seen episodes will began airing Tuesday, Oct. 20th.

Daly stars as Harlan Judd, owner of Judd Risk Management, a 21st century private investigation firm that makes clients' problems go away quickly and quietly. Created and executive produced by John McNamara, the series returns with 12 episodes, including seven that have never been seen before. "Eyes" also stars Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, A.J. Langer, Laura Leighton, Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius, Rick Worthy and Natalie Zea.

Daly sat down with AOL Shopping and revealed his his style staples, and his love for Scrabble, among other things.

I have a lot of good experience with Helly Hansen clothing. Some years ago, I (literally) lived in several pair of their shorts and shirts, while on a three week trip to Africa visiting my son, in the Peace Corps at the time. To this day, I use those same shorts for backpacking trips and SCUBA diving jaunts. Good stuff, and they show little sign of wear.

Melissa Joan Hart is heating up the dance floor with her partner Mark Ballas on Season 9 of Dancing With the Stars.

Hart is best known for her starring roles on the TV shows Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Clarissa Explains it All. She now has two children, Mason, age 3, and Braydon, 17 months and earlier this year, opened a candy store, SweetHarts, in Sherman Oaks, California.

Mark Ballas started dancing on the show in Season 5, and has danced with Kim Kardashian, Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson. He has won the title twice since joining the show, first in Season 6 with Kristi Yamaguchi, and again in Season 8 with Shawn Johnson.

Poor, poor, toes. The red-headed stepchild of all our body parts.
