  • Summary:
    As the model designation suggests, the SIRPNP3 is the third version of this tuner to be offered by Audiovox. Along with other models of Q4 2004 vintage, it uses the generation 2.5 chipset, allowing it to be substantially smaller than its predecessors. As a plug-and-play model, it requires minimal installation to be used in a vehicle, and is designed to be easily transferred to other locations, provided one has additional cradles (SIRCK3 for cars, SIRHK3 for indoors). There is also a boombox available (SIRBB3), which allows one to forgo power cords and to listen outdoors. Buyers note: unlike the SIRCMB3 -- which includes the aforementioned CK3 car kit in addition to the PNP3 tuner -- this version of the tuner (the SIRPNP3) does *not* include a supporting cradle/kit of any type. As such, you *must* purchase at least one of the three products listed in the preceding paragraph for the tuner to function. Consequently, in addition to the tuner, I purchased the car kit which included a docking cradle, mounting bracket, 12V power adapter, and magnetic roof-mount antenna -- all essential to vehicular usage. But beware: a satellite tuner such as this, prominently displayed on one's dashboard and designed to be easily removed, is likely to tempt thieves. In conclusion: my research convinced me the SIRPNP3 was probably the best of its type, with the most features and strongest performance for the money. But while the tuner has largely lived up to my expectations, prospective buyers should be aware that there are newer models available.

    Overall a good radio with an attractive display and functionality. To preset the stations on this radio is a little tricky and intuitive. The Sirius antenna has to be constantly repositiones if used indoors. Your best option is to mount the antenna outside with a clear view of the sky.

    I would like to say this is a good product, since you can use it anywhere, and too basic. Also the design of this product is looks nice too. Good for traveling.
