  • Summary:
The TRZ in the tire name stands for 'Three Ride Zones' and refers to the tread design. If you look at it closely, you can see three distinct tread pattern bands, each engineered for a different set of road conditions. I purchased these tires because they were highly rated and recommended by a co-worker but was skeptical about how they would perform. After a month of use on a 1996 Honda Accord LX on dry pavement, rain and several light snows, I am a believer. On dry pavement, the tires handle very well in town and at highway speeds as you would expect. The same is true for rain conditions. On a well-grooved interstate stretch I drive I was able to travel at 70+ mph in a heavy rain and always felt fully in control of the vehicle. Where they shine best, however, is in snow. We've had an unusually snowy winter this year including one storm of 10 inches. In all cases, I have had zero problems moving about town. The grip and handling are excellent -- so good, in fact, that I was confident enough to drive the Accord rather than fall back to my 4x4 pickup. I've driven 1 million + miles in my life and have owned many sets of passenger tires on many different vehicles. Having said that I can also say that these are the best passenger car tires I have ever owned. If you live in an area with a 4-season climate, these are the tires for you.
