Motorola C51 SD7561 Cordless Phone

- Pros:
Looks cool but........ - Cons:
Short battery life, sound quality is poor -
Summary:
I thought perhaps I had bopught a defective phone system but I see the same complaints from other users. The battery goes dead after 3-40 minutes with no warning. The battery charger evidently does not sufficietly recharge the battery. I replaced 2 batteries at $20 each but got the same results. It's just a bad system. I'm surprised Motorola would put it's brand on this system. But perhaps this is representative of Motorola's brand of quality.

- Pros:
Hand free cordless works great people don't know they are on speakerphone - Cons:
Battery life is horrible. Dies in minutes. Replaced the battery's twice and they aren't cheap. Also no warning when the batteys are gonna die. just hangs up on the person and the screen now says low bat -
Summary:
Changed battery's twice and they aren't cheap. Also no warning when the battery's are gonna die. just hangs up on the person and the screen now says low battery. Too late it already hung up.Battery life sucks and no warning that its low. Also cant mute the answering machine when people call and leave a message everyone in the house hears the message as they are leaving it. No privacy!

- Pros:
design, features, answering machine, multiple handset option - Cons:
the important things: sound quality, horrible echo, difficult menu -
Summary:
This phone looks great and is feature filled. However this comes at the cost of sound quality. The first time I plugged it in it had a horrible buzz, but that could have been because I accidentally bypassed my dsl filter, but even after replugging in the line the phone echoed. If you turned the sound down the echo was better, but you couldn't hear the person on the other line. The person on the other line could not hear the echo, but it was very annoying. I would not recommend this product due to my experience, but it could have been a defective phone. However, I wouldn't count on it. Motorola needs to get back on the ball.

- Pros:
Answering Machine, software features - Cons:
Wall mount is weak and akward -
Summary:
Functionally, this product is probably the best expandable phone system you could buy. You can buy color handsets, cameras, and cell phone docks. The answering machine is accessible from any handset. The base charge light is VERY bright but the software menus allow you to disable the light. The SD7561 works best on a desktop rather than as a wall mount because the wall mount bracket is a little awkward and it's black. Unless you have a black wall jack and dark walls, it's going to stick out and look strange. The system includes options for shared and private phone books. You can also access your cell phone phone book from the cordless handsets. I have owned this and the SD45xx series phones from Motorola (2.4GHz equivalent of the SD75xx series) and both have great features and quality. Very solid and easy to use.
