Preheat the panini pan using the heat setting you intend to use when cooking, before adding butter or oil. Do not rush the preheating process by using high heat. Panini press set is oven-safe to 450 F but not safe for broiler use. Set is safe for gas, ceramic, glass, electric and halogen stove tops. Use with nylon, coated or wooden utensils to better protect the cookware surface. Allow panini press and pan to cool completely before washing. Never immerse hot cookware in cold water, as this may cause irreparable warping. Hand wash only, not dishwasher-safe. Never place Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick cookware in an automatic dishwasher, or use abrasive cleaning pads or cleansers that can damage the pan and void the warranty. Clean with a liquid dishwashing detergent and a nonabrasive sponge or soft bristle brush. For stubborn spots on the exterior only, use Bar Keeper's Friend cleanser and a nonabrasive sponge.
