Panasonic DMR-EZ17S DVD Recorder - Silver

- Pros:
Good price. Quality of picture is good. Easy to use. - Cons:
This dvd recorder was not compatable with my TV because I have a satelite, so it had to be hooked up differently from the instructions. Had to call the help line. It takes a very long time to turn on. -
Summary:
The hook up for a "DVD dummy" like myself was very easy. The instruction manual is easy to follow. If you have any questions the 1-800 help line is open on the weekend. They are very helpful too!

- Pros:
Records digital signals through its own tuner. Records on dual layer disks. Flexible recording time does not limit you to putting a 2:01 link recording on a disk at 4 hour speeds. - Cons:
Cannot record HD, but it's not an HD recorder so that's the breaks. -
Summary:
Records digital signals through its own tuner. Records on dual layer disks. Flexible recording time does not limit you to putting a 2:01 length recording on a disk at 4 hour speeds since some recorders make you use 2, 4, 6 or 8 hour speeds. I can set it for the time I need and it will use exactly that much. It has a built-in digital tuner (NOT all digital is HD.) Cannot record HD, but it's not an HD recorder so that's the breaks. My HD Directv has to have me set it on the 480i quality to record to it, not 480p or 720p or 1080i.
