User Reviews for
Samsung DVD-R145 DVD Recorder
- By shashis3 06/02/2008
- Pros:
Slim, Samsung quality - Cons:
Has problems playing some DVDs, Recorder gets stuck sometimes -
Summary:
Picture quality of playback of commercial DVDs is good. User manual is very thorough and explains all the functions well. DVD playback of some home recorded videos is problematic, will stop at certain tracks and get stuck. The whole unit will also freeze-up for no apparent reason and only pulling the plug from AC will rectify it.Overall, for the price its OK, but plagued with problems and I would not recommend this product.

- Pros:
great picture quality, when it plays. - Cons:
rejects more dvds than plays. -
Summary:
piece of junk. best picture quality i have, when it decides to play. initializing a dvd can get stuck at 10% and pop it back out on its own with an error message. five brand new dvd+RW's i couldn't format. will check reviews before buying again.

- Pros:
Stylish looks, good quality payback, plenty of jacks - Cons:
owners manual -
Summary:
After very limited use the unit seems to function quite well. The manual is a bit confusing as there are at least three places that give various info on the differing medias that can be used and what they will do. I am neither a wizard nor an electronic geek but I am still scratching my head over what media to buy and whether to format them or initialize them or what! In retrospect I may have just been better off with a Tivo. For all that are looking to just record a show for one time viewing please remember that unlike VHS, DVDs are not rerecordable
