  • If you have an iPod mini you need an iTrip mini. The iTrip mini FM transmitter lets you play your iPod mini?s music wirelessly through any FM radio ? in your car, on the road, even at home through your stereo. The iTrip mini was designed exclusively for the iPod mini. Its form factor matches perfectly all the curves and lines of the iPod mini. It sounds even sweeter. iTrip mini gives you the best possible performance because you can choose any empty station from 87.7 to 107.9. Best of all you choose and change your iTrip mini stations directly from the iPod mini itself. The iTrip mini does NOT n...eed batteries. It receives a tiny amount of power directly from the iPod mini ? saving you from wasting hundreds of batteries a year. That?s good news for the planet and even better news for your wallet.

User Reviews for
Griffin Tech. iTrip Mini FM Transmitter for iPod mini

  • By LiLQuiwi   08/27/2006 Excellent
  • Pros:
good quality sound, easy setup, compact, nice design that looks like an extension of the mini instead of an awkward add-on, compatible with home and car stereo systems/radios
  • Cons:
sometimes the signal is distorted when driving near power lines, may drain battery more than you would like--but just get a cheap car charger and you will be good to go
  • Summary:
This is a great product and I have been very happy with this purchase. I am still in awe of the fact that I can actually play my ipod on my car stereo. It has always worked great in my car (2006 Civic), but it does not work in my boyfriend's older car. However, his radio is staticky anyway, so maybe it is his antenna. If your radio has static when tuned to regular stations, then this product would probably not be good for you. I have also used this product to play music on my radio alarm clock. It has a weaker antenna, so I have to put the ipod+transmitter directly on top of the radio. In my car, I have never had trouble finding the "sweet spot".. it pretty much works anywhere I put it. The only issue I have had with the signal so far is when I am driving near a lot of powerlines on the highway, there is distortion and static. If you are planning on using the iTrip for road trips, or even just frequent short trips in your car, you should probably invest in a cheap car charger. The iTrip does drain your battery, although not extensively.

  • Pros:
    small, lightweight, white, fits nicely
  • Cons:
poor audio quality, easy to loose, no screen
  • Summary:
This is probably the worst ipod transmitter that is currenly on the market. Don't be fooled by the iTrip name; this product just does not live up to the hype. The audio quality is of very poor quality. I have tried numerous stations, but I keep getting terriable sound quality. Furthermore, the product worked decently for 1 week before it just refused to operate anymore. This may be due to the system updates your iPod's may be using. I would tell anyone who is looking for a good value and sound quality to stay away from this product. By a product that is of higher quality and has more feature. You will be glad you did.

  • Pros:
    easy to use
  • Cons:
cuts out sometimesor or gets fuzy
  • Summary:
this thing is very cool and incredibly nice to have for the i pod. dont turn sound on i pod to loud or sound quality will be fuzzy. sometimes it cuts out to. that happens to me but not very often. last time it happened was two months ago so periodically you might have problems with it. i would reccomend it because it is easy to use and if you want to listen without cumbersome headphones then it is just what you need especially for your car. the good outweighs the bad.
  • By donchoi   02/14/2006 Good
  • Pros:
Good integration with the iPod mini; looks nice
  • Cons:
Changing frequencies is a pain; sound quality; drains the battery quickly
  • Summary:
The iTrip is a good idea, but only a mediocre product. I know some people who have bought these, only to switch back to their old tape adapters. The good thing is you just plug it in and it works using the default settings. Changing FM frequencies is a royal pain, because you have to install a playlist that messes up your music library (I'm anal). The sound quality is kind of weak (between FM and AM radio quality), with slight interruptions of static in my car. The battery drains much faster if you broadcast like this, lasting maybe half the time of a full charge.
