The Appelsiini green umbrella canopy is made of weather- and UV-resistant Spun Polyester. Designed in 1950, Appelsiini ("orange") represents one of the first patterns created by legendary Marimekko designer Maija Isola. Steeped in rich color and deliberate detail, linear rows of orange slices are abundant in graphic repetition. With painting supplies scarce in the early 1950s, Maija experimented with crayons to achieve similar color saturation. Drawing patterns on thin sheets of paper, she would dampen them on a wooden board, allowing the hues to deepen and permeate the page in a painterly effect. Appelsiini represents this unconventional method. Pole with easy-tilt hand-crank feature allows you to follow the sun all day.
